ISLAMABAD, Feb 24: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on Friday called upon the trainee civil judges to remain committed to their noble task and perform their duties with honesty and devotion.

“Personal interest or any temptation must not lead to deviation from the voice of your conscience while discharging duties,” the chief justice observed during a meeting with 13 civil judges under training at the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA).

The trainee judges visited the Supreme Court and witnessed the court proceedings. Of them, nine are from Punjab, while the remaining four are from Northern Areas.

The chief justice suggested the trainee judges to restore the prestige of the profession by imparting justice to the litigants. Islam has ordained establishment of a just society, and imparting justice is one of divine qualities, Justice Chaudhry observed adding, “Whosoever is selected by the Almighty Allah for this noble task, is one of the most honoured persons on earth.”

“This is the character of a judge not to yield to any pressure or difficulties,” he said. Make decisions according to the voice of your conscience and satisfaction, as this satisfaction would remain part of your life.

Justice Mohammad Nawaz Abbasi, Director-General FJA Moazzam Hayat and Additional Director FJA Mohammad Majid Bashir were also present on the occasion.
