KOHAT: All Kohat Tajir Ittehad (KTI) on Tuesday rejected the recent massive increase in the gas tariff and incorporation of different levies in electricity bills, terming it economic murder of the people already crushed by heavy taxation and inflation.

Speaking at a meeting held here, the traders demanded of the prime minister to withdraw the decisions.

They resented that consumers were being subjected to excessive electricity and gas outages, but even then they were sent exorbitant bills.

The participants also complained that officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority were harassing the business community.

Tajir Ittehad chairman Ameer Khan Afridi chaired the meeting.

Meanwhile, Kohat deputy commissioner Azmatullah Wazir, who is also the district chief executive of Khushal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Programme, has directed the effective implementation of the initiative to achieve the desired results.
