LAHORE: Juan Cruz Gregoul brilliant five-goal show helped FG/Din Polo retain their Hamdan Lahore Open Polo Championship title after defeating Team Remounts 6-4 in the main-final here at the Lahore Polo Club on Sunday.

FG/Din Polo got a substantial 3-0 lead in the first chukker but Remounts’ Lao Abelenda scored one goal each in the next two chukkers to reduce the deficit to 3-2.

The final chukker saw Abelenda adding two more goals to Remounts’ total but it was FG/Din Polo who reigned supreme as they scored another three with the help of Gergoul and Bilal Haye to seal the triumph.

“We are grateful to Allah Almighty that we successfully defended the Lahore Open Polo title this year as well,” FG/Din Polo captain Mian Abbas Mukhtar said. “We prepared very hard and played like a unit, which helped us win the prestigious title. Juan Cruz Greguol played like a hero and helped our team clinch the coveted trophy,” he added.
