ILLEGAL HYDRANTS: A water tanker carrying 1,200 gallons, which was previously available for Rs3,000, is now hard to get even when one is willing to pay Rs4,000. Getting a water tanker has become difficult and gone beyond one’s financial reach. The residents are badly affected due to the non-availability of piped water. In Defence View area, residents have not received piped water for at least the last couple of years. The relevant authorities should restore water supply to the area so that the people may get some genuine relief.

POLITICAL RHETORIC: The leader of the political party that has ruled Sindh for the last several years recently claimed to be representing the youth of the country. Really? He has never attended any government school, never struggled for a job, never travelled in a public bus, and, in short, has never tasted what life is for the millions of young in this country. Has he? He has absolutely no idea what it is like to be a young with no resources and no oppor- tunities. The youth of Pakistan has become disillusioned with politics, and is only struggling to make ends meet.

CIVIL HOSPITAL: The Civil Hospital in Hub is a vital and the only government-run healthcare facility serving the local residents as well as people from the surrounding areas. However, it has been struggling for long to provide quality healthcare to the people. Recently, I had the misfortune of visiting the hospital where a doctor prescribed me an injection. When I went to the relevant section to get the injection, I was asked to buy the said injection from some medical store outside the hospital. Moreover, the medical store of the hospital always remains shut. It was frustrating to witness the dismal state of the hospital. The relevant department should intervene and improve the conditions prevailing at the Civil Hospital in Hub.
