ISLAMABAD: Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon has asked the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) not to grant winter vacation to any officials or officers until the completion of the training for elections.

An official of the capital administration said that in this regard, the directorate has been asked to ensure the availability of all the officers and officials for training in connection with the upcoming general election in 2024.

In a letter to the Director General Federal Directorate of Education Islamabad, Deputy commissioner stated that in the wake of the 2024 general election, the Election Commission of Pakistan has directed that no government officer or official shall be granted leaves till the completion of the election process, except maternity and medical leave authenticated by a medical officer.

Furthermore, the officers and officials of the Federal Directorate of Education and subordinate establishments shall not leave the station during winter vacations and also remain available at their place of posting to attend the trainings planned for polling personnel, it added.

It is therefore requested that the directions of the Election Commission of Pakistan be adhered to in letter and spirit, and necessary directions may be issued to the lower formations under the administrative control of the Federal Directorate of Education in Islamabad.
