PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Commercial Banking Circle on Friday arrested two suspects and recovered local and foreign currencies from their possession.

An FIA spokesman said that Falak Niaz and Asadullah were arrested from a commercial plaza in Saddar area. He said an amount of Rs4.5 million, 550 Saudi riyals, 900 UAE dirhams and 1,200 Malaysian ringgits were recovered from the accused.

He said the FIA team also recovered records related to hundi-hawala references.

He added that a case had been registered against the accused and further investigation was in progress.
