KHUZDAR: Three people, including the chairman of Wadh Municipal Committee (WMC), were killed and three others critically injured in a head-on collision between a pickup and a jeep on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway on Wednesday.
Levies officials said WMC Chairman Mohammad Umar was travelling along with the headmaster of a government-run school and others in a pickup.
When they reached the Waheer area of Wadh, a jeep coming from the opposite direction collided with the pickup, they added.
The three people were killed on the spot. The headmaster has been identified as Mohammad Usman. The name of the third deceased, a woman, could not be immediately ascertained. The three people injured in the accident also included a woman.
Levies personnel shifted the bodies and the injured to the district hospital Khuzdar.
Officials have linked the accident to speeding.
