KARACHI: Chinese crew member rescued

KARACHI, Feb 20: In a helicopter rescue operation on Monday, Pakistan Navy saved the life of a Chinese crew member, who got seriously injured in an accident on board. Chinese Merchant Ship MV Han Zhong Men was at a distance of 250 nautical miles from here.

While en route to Karachi, it made an emergency call to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Pakistan. The ship reported that one of its crew member, Yang Zhi, had been seriously injured in an accident on board. The patient required immediate medical attention due to severe injuries.

The MRCC requested the navy for help to rescue the patient. The navy’s seeking helicopter was flown out and the injured man was ferried to the PNS Shifa hospital, where is under treatment, says a press release.
