Paper bags are awesome! They’re way better for the Earth than plastic bags which can be bad for our environment. Did you know we can even make cool bags out of cereal boxes?

Yep! So, if you have empty cereal boxes after breakfast, don’t just toss them away. Let’s turn them into super cool bags together!

Things you need:

  2. Wrapping paper

  3. Stickers or other materials to decorate

  4. Two strings either make them from yarn or use the ones from shoe boxes

  5. Glue stick or white glue

Directions:

  1. Cut the top flaps off the cereal box, so you have an open rectangular shape, picture 2.

  2. Place the box on the wrapping paper and wrap it up just like you would wrap a present. Use a glue stick or you can even use scotch tape, picture 3, 4 and 5.

  3. Get creative! Use stickers, drawings, or any fun decorations to make your bag look super cool. I just added a touch of elegance by pasting a red-coloured paper strip on the top edge of the box, picture 6.

  4. On the top edge of the box, punch two holes on each side. This is where your strings will go. Pictures 7 and 8.

  5. Cut two pieces of string and insert them through the holes. Tie knots on the inside to secure them. I used the strings from the shoe box as bag handles, picture 9

Give your bag some time to dry, so that everything stays in place. Ta-da! You’ve just made an awesome bag out of a cereal box. Now, use it to carry your toys, snacks, or anything else you like.
