HYDERABAD: DIG Establishment Syed Pir Mohammad Shah has dismissed police inspector Ayaz Khero, until recently posted in Shikarpur, through an ex-parte decision after an inquiry found him involved in criminal activities. He was also found having been mixed up with criminals and facilitating or patronising them.

Khero also defied several orders issued to him recently by his superiors. A show-cause notice issued to him earlier read: “… you have played role of black sheep in police hence you are liable for award of major punishment”.

According to sources, Khero was asked by his bosses to ‘mediate’ between police and dacoits for the release of five policemen, including SHO of Kot Shahu, in October but he declined and, therefore, he was awarded major punishment.
