KARACHI: The Sindh United Party (SUP) on Sunday announced setting up of its cabinet on Sunday after its intra-party elections in which Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah and Syed Zain Shah were declared elected unopposed as chairman and president, respectively.

Jagdish Ahuja was elected secretary general and Khwaja Naveed information secretary, both unopposed.

Central election commissioner Roshan Kalhoro supervised the process.

The party’s general council held its meeting during which SUP’s new cabinet was announced. It comprised senior vice president Roshan Ali Buriro, four vice presidents Ameer Azad Panhwar, Muneer Haider Shah, Muneer Naich and Arif Niaz Arain; deputy general secretary Prof Inam Bhatti, joint secretary Ramzan Buriro and finance secretary Mukhtiar Memon.

The two-day session of the general council was presided over by Syed Zain Shah. The divisional and district chapters of the party presented their performance reports while SUP’s

central body for the next two years was also elected during the session.
