KARACHI, Feb 19: The Chief Secretary, Fazalur Rehman, has asked concerned provincial secretaries and all DCOs to take immediate steps for the development of less-developed districts under the federal public sector development programme.

He told them to go ahead to overcome the problems faced in this regard in liaison with the finance and planning and development departments.

He made these observations while reviewing a report compiled by the Secretary Local Government, Mohammed Ishaq Lashari, at his office on Saturday.

The chief secretary called for reports about the progress achieved in respect of the Khushhal Pakistan and other programmes. He asked the DCOs to submit reports with reference to approved PC-1s.

He also sought details in connection with the implementation of reports sent by the Works and Services, Local Government, Education, Health, Irrigation and Power and other departments for coordinated measures under the PSDP 2005-06.—APP
