ENTRANCE TEST

ENTRANCE TEST: Being a medical student, I have personally witnessed the immense challenges that Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) candidates endure during their preparation and examination, making it one of the most depressing phases of their lives. Academic stress is made worse by the manner in which the critical examination is conducted. Every year, it is marred by controversies, out-of-syllabus questions, flawed scoring system, and discrepancies in the assessment process. The relevant authorities should ensure transparency in the whole MDCAT process. Students should be given adequate time for preparation. It is our collective respon- sibility to address the issues and ensure a better, more transparent and merit-based admission process.

E-LIBRARY: The e-library at Qadhafi Stadium in Lahore was once known as the symbol of knowledge and modernity. It was established with a significant budget allocation to provide students and researchers with state-of-the-art facilities and resources. However, the reality on the ground paints a starkly different picture. The library is now bereft of basic amenities, including internet access. The library staff enjoys the internet, while the students are deprived of this facility. The authorities concerned should look into the matter and take necessary actions.

NATURAL GAS: The tariff of natural gas has undergone a massive increase, overburdening the common man even further. The government has found an easy way of enhancing the cost of basic utilities without thinking about the people. It is just another way of extor- ting money from the common man while protecting the bureaucrats who enjoy such utilities as part of the perks they enjoy while in office. A government is supposed to provide relief to the people, not to multiply their difficulties.
