OKARA: A student were killed and nine others injured in a collision between a trailer and a van here on Wednesday morning near village 2/1L on the Renala-Shergarh Road.

Reports said a van carrying school and college students was hit by a trailer, resulting in the loss of life of 16-year-old student Arzoo.

Nine other students - Jameel, Faizan, Momna, Saba, Iqra, Saima, Swera, Sabeeka, and Faiza - and van driver Waqas sustained severe injuries in the accident.Waqas is said to be critical at hospital.

The Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted six of the injured to Tehsil Renala Hospital and four others to DHQ City Hospital.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Dr Zeeshan Hanif visited the DHQ city hospital to inquire after the students and directed Medical Superintendent Dr Sajjad Gillani to provide all possible treatment facilities to the injured.

DRIVING SCHOOL: Punjab Additional Inspector General (AIG) Traffic Mirza Faran Baig inaugurated a driving learning school at Tayyab Saeed Shaheed Police Lines.

The school aims to provide comprehensive training for individuals entering the driving field, catering to various vehicle types.

He categorically said the unlicenced and underage drivers would not be spared During his visit, the AIG was welcomed by District Police Officer Mansoor Aman at Tayyab Saeed Police Lines.

Later, Mr. Baig visited Government College for Boys, Renala Khurd, where he asked students to abide by traffic rules for the safety of all.
