LAHORE: A Dawn page-maker was robbed at gunpoint on the Canal Road outside the Punjab University in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Muhammad Asim, a page-maker, was returning home on his bike after finishing his duty at 3am, when two armed motorcyclists intercepted him on the Canal Road.

The robbers snatched his mobile phone worth Rs30,000, along with Rs6,500 cash on him and fled the scene.

A report of the incident was lodged with the Muslim Town police.

Street crimes and robberies are on the rise in the city, despite installation Safe Cities Authority cameras and police patrolling on the roads.
