DOHA: Pakistan’s cueists Ahsan Ramzan and Mohammad Naseem Akhtar sealed their berth in the last-28 after winning their respective matches during the IBSF World 6-Red Snooker Championship in Doha on Monday.

Ahsan defeated Susantha Boteju of Sri Lanka 4-2 (29-36, 48-09, 50-16, 65-06, 02-47, 48-06) to confirm his qualification in the next round but lost to Latvia’s Rodion Judin by the same margin (50-15, 75-0, 13-51, 45-0, 0-48, 71-0) in a dead rubber and failed to maintain his unbeaten run.

Meanwhile, Naseem kept his record intact as he won both of his matches on Monday. The 22-year-old first thumped Nepal’s Santosh Putuwar 4-1 (39-29, 0-42, 45-07, 46-05, 38-36) and then beat Cheung Ka Wai of Hong Kong with an identical score (38-31, 76-24, 59-06, 29-38, 44-04).
