FC soldier hurt in gun battle

QUETTA, Feb 15: A Frontier Corps soldier was injured in heavy exchange of fire between security forces and armed tribesmen in the Sangsilla area of Dera Bugti District, on Wednesday.

According to sources, an FC soldier, Abid Hussain, was seriously injured in the gun battle between tribesmen and security forces in the Sangsilla area. He was taken to Dera Bugti for treatment.

The sources said that security forces destroyed the tribesmen’s base and recovered illegal arms and ammunition. No arrest was be made.

Meanwhile, seven rockets were fired at FC posts in the Kahan area while FC personnel retaliated by firing rockets and mortar shells. Reports reaching here said that many rockets were fired at an FC post in Ahamdan Qila in Dera Bugti.

A portion of the Ahamdan Qila was damaged, sources said. No casualty was reported in the attack.—Staff Correspondent
