Nadeem shines

LAHORE, Feb 14: Afshan Club, Lahore and Raiders Club cruised into the next round of the fifth All-Punjab Mian Badaruddin memorial football tournament at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Tuesday.

An 82nd minute goal by striker Nadeem helped Afshan Club eliminate Munir Shaheed Club, Kasur 2-1.

The winners were 1-0 up at half time through Azam’s goal in the 25th minute.

Ashfaq levelled the score in the 58th minute, before Nadeem struck.

A solitary goal by Habib in 75th minute helped Raiders Club beat Muslim Sports, Sheikhupura 1-0.

The final of the tournament will be played on Feb 16 after semifinals on Feb 24 and 25. Matches schedule:

Feb 17 : Mujahid FC v WAPDA Gujranwala
