Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has called for enhanced engagement with Western capitals to make Israel realise that its bombardment of Gaza can trigger a spillover effect beyond the region, according to state-run Radio Pakistan.

In an interview with Arab News, the premier called for an immediate cessation of violence and labelled Israel’s assault on Gaza as “clearly genocide”.

Kakar added he will attend an extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh on Sunday to discuss Israel’s attacks on Palestine.
