LAHORE, Feb 14: Three trains were pelted with stones during Tuesday’s protest, causing minor injuries to two employees of the Pakistan Railways.

Officials said activists of a students body pelted a Sialkot-bound train with stones in Badami Bagh.

The Allama Iqbal Express (9-up) had hardly crossed the outer signal of the Badami Bagh railway station when a group of youths appeared on the track and started pelting stones, smashing the windscreen of the locomotive which caused minor injuries to the driver and fireman, the officials said without naming the two employees.

On seeing the railways police personnel, the youths ran away, they said and added both the employees resumed their duties after first-aid.

The officials said another group of youths pelted the Faisalabad Passenger (231-down) and the Faisalabad Express (35-up) at Shahdara junction, smashing the windows of some coaches but no passenger was injured.
