The Israeli army has issued new evacuation orders, saying it will allow a short window of time for residents in northern Gaza to move south beyond Wadi Gaza, Al Jazeera reports.

Traffic will be allowed on Salah al-Din Street on Sunday from 10am to 2pm [08:00 GMT to 12:00 GMT], the military said on its Arabic X account.

It added that Hamas launched an attack with mortars and antitank shells on Israeli forces who had deployed to open the same road and allow civilians to evacuate.
