External service

Published November 4, 2023

IT has been a while since Radio Pakistan shifted its external service from shortwave transmitters to web streaming on its website, but it has not bothered to mention the time schedule of the various language slots on its website.

Hence, prospective listeners abroad are not in a position to know about the availability of this service. The external service transmission is of eight-hour duration and includes languages like Bangla, Hindi, Dari, Persian, etc. There are more than 20 staff members associated with the service. Despite repeated requests and reminders to the officials concerned, no one has bothered to add the schedule on the website. Clearly, Radio Pakistan is least bothered about spreading the word around.

People are forced to pay Radio Pakistan through their electricity bills, but Radio Pakistan itself is not interested one bit in behaving profe-ssionally. This is a sheer waste of resources.
