PESHAWAR, Feb 13: The anti-encroachment drive launched by the district government for widening the Circular Road is in full swing. Encroachments on the road have been removed up to the

Kohati Gate.

The district Nazim, Haji Ghulam Ali, said here on Monday that the road which was earlier 40 feet wide has now been widened up to 100 feet. He said the project of widening the road had been launched with the assistance of provincial government over increasing complaints of traffic congestion in the area. He said that the district government had launched a phased programme for widening of the road for which the provincial government had released an initial amount of Rs50 million.

In the first phase, he said, encroachments would be removed from Balamari to Kohati Chowk.—APP
