ISLAMABAD: While Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) condemned the terrorist attack in Mastung resulting in the killing of District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar along with his guard, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi on Friday expressed profound grief and deep anguish on behalf of the judiciary of Pakistan.

In a condolence message, the CJP said the judiciary of Pakistan stands un­­ited in mourning this irreparable loss.

As a mark of respect and in solidarity with the bereaved families and the district judiciary of Balochistan, the Judicial Well-being Conference scheduled for July 25 was also postponed.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved families of Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his devoted security official, who laid down their lives in the line of duty,” the CJP said in the condolence message and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the departed souls eternal peace, elevate their ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and bless their families with patience and fortitude.

Meanwhile, vice chairman of Pak­istan Bar Council (PBC) Pir Muham­mad Masood Chishti and PBC Exe­c­utive Committee Chairman Munir Ahmed Malik condemned the terrorist attack in Mastung, in which Ses­sions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his bodyguard embraced martyrdom, while Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari sustained critical injuries.

Expressing their grief and sorrow over this inhumane and heinous act of terrorism, targeting members of the judiciary, they stated that such barbaric acts are entirely against the traditions and values of the people of Balochistan.

They expressed concern over the growing wave of terrorism and targeted killings in Balochistan.
