NAWABSHAH: Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman and former president of the country, Asif Ali Zardari, has said that his party is well poised to form the next government in the centre.

He said at a small gathering of party workers from Sakrand and Qazi Ahmed talukas who visited him at Zardari House here on Thursday that every worker and supporter of the party was determined to help establish peoples’ government.

He said that PPP would soon bring its own prime minister and provide relief to common man by introducing necessary reforms.

He admitted once again their choice of Shehbaz Sharif as prime minister was not a good decision as he proved himself to be inefficient and incapable of controlling inflation, which had severely hit the poor man’s budget. The country was going through a severe energy crisis and his government would harness solar energy for projects to overcome it after his party came to power, he said.

He said the PPP was the real champion of democracy as Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and thousands of other workers and supporters had sacrificed their lives for democracy. PPP’s jiyalas had faced challenges in every era, he added.

Former minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, former MNA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, ex-MPAs Ali Hasan Zardari, Ghulam Qadir Chandio and Chaudhry Tariq Masood Arain were also present on the occasion. Earlier, the former head of state visited Qazi Ahmed town.
