Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said he has “unequivocally” conveyed Pakistan’s feelings on the Israel-Palestine crisis to Western envoys and urged them to discourage Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

“We believe that there should be an immediate ceasefire in the present crisis and humanitarian corridors should be opened,” he asserted in a press conference in Islamabad.

Kakar said he did not see a solution to the crisis in upcoming days, weeks or months because the issue at hand was “chronic”. However, he maintained that there was reasoning for Israel’s “inappropriate aggression”.

“Wherever possible, we will play our role in an effective way,” he vowed.
