HYDERABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Sindh general secretary Rashid Mehmood Soomro has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will not be able to form government in Sindh as the PPP has always ditched people after using their votes to get to power corridors.

People would now hold PPP accountable for misdeeds during its 15-year rule during which the party had set new records of corruption, he said while addressing participants in the party’s ‘Peace March’ that reached Tando Mohammad Khan on Monday.

He said the PPP’s corruption was a stain on the country’s history, hence people would never give their mandate to this party again. Road infrastructure had been destroyed in Sindh where people were facing starvation and hunger although their province was rich in gas, oil and other natural resources, he said.

He said that dacoits and tribal culture had destroyed peace in the province and youth were getting killed by narcotics and drugs. PPP was responsible for all the crimes, he added.

Sees no prospects of PPP forming govt in Sindh

He said that Imran Khan’s politics had increasingly become so impossible that he could now be prime minister only in his wildest dreams.

About PML-N supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif’s comeback, Soomro said that the judiciary had removed Mr Sharif as prime minister and then courts sent him to jail. There was no reason to raise objections now if he had been granted bail by the court, he said, adding that judicial orders should be accepted.

He said that the beginning of change had started in the country. The vote would decide who would form government in future, he said.

He said that he personally believed only Maulana Fazlur Rehman was able to extricate the country from crisis. The PPP would not be able to form government in Sindh not to mention the centre, he said.

He said that JUI-F was working with the Grand Democratic Alliance, MQM-P and PML-N on the formation of a coalition government in Sindh. The JUI-F had presented 18-point programme for the prosperity of Sindh to rid the province of dacoits and narcotics, he said.

Health institutions would be provided facilities and clean drinking water would be supplied to people, he said, adding that corruption would be eliminated from Sindh and the province would be provided 70pc production royalty of oil and gas resources.

He said that illegal occupation of Sindh’s forests, mountains and resources would be ended to reassure people of Sindh that they were not helpless and they would soon see an era of progress and development.

He said that peace march would reach Karachi on

Nov 2 where Maulana Fazlur Rehman would address the participants.

The party leaders Abdul Qayyum Halejvi, Abdul Razzaq Lakho, Mohammad Saleh Indhar, Taj Mohammad Nahiyoon also spoke at the gathering.
