RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued a show-cause notice to the owner of a housing scheme, Faisal Town Phase-II, located in Mera Kalan, Kolian Par and Dhalla in Rawalpindi tehsil, for launching its marketing on social media.
The authority’s spokesperson said RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa had taken notice and warned the public to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes and also not to get involved in scams of any illegal housing society.
He said the owner of the illegal housing scheme, namely Faisal Town Phase-II, was going to hold an opening ceremony for booking plots in the new block of Faisal Town Phase II, which was a violation of Rule 46(1) of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021.
“The general public is advised to avoid it,” the spokesperson said, adding that a sponsor shall not advertise sale of plots or housing units in print and electronic media or in any manner without prior approval of the authority.
He said the RDA had directed the owner of the housing society to stop all kinds of development works, advertisements, ceremonies, events and sale and purchase of plots. In case of non-compliance, due legal action will be initiated against them under the provisions of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021.
He said the RDA had also been directed to take strict action against advertisements and marketing of illegal housing schemes.
