MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 12: Three tents used by local police guarding the United Nations compound here were gutted when a five broke out on Sunday night.

No one was reported hurt in the incident.

The fire broke out at 9:30am and was blamed on an electrical short-circuit in one of the tents. The fire engulfed the adjacent tents before it was put out by fire fighters.

The police tents were pitched outside the UN compound in the Shaukat Lines area.

City police station SHO Waheed Gillani told this correspondent that the fire deprived the policemen of their uniforms and other belongings.
