CAIRO: During the second half of the Fourth Middle Eastern war, the Israelis employed latest model weapons untested even in Vietnam, [Egyptian] Deputy Premier Mohammed Abdel Kader Hatem said. … Hatem … made the statement during a talk with West German journalists. … “Until Oct 16, we were fighting Israel only,” Hatem said. “But then a new stage began, and that was that we were fighting an enemy which had volunteers from America and which had weapons which had not appeared in even Vietnam war, and it had these in large quantities.” — News agencies

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from Islamabad,] the stand of Saudi Arabia on the Arab-Israeli conflict remains unchanged, namely the evacuation of the Israeli troops from all occupied Arab territories, including Baitul Maqdis (Jerusalem) and the realisation of the legal rights of the Palestinians, according to a statement of the Royal Cabinet released here. … It said the Kingdom … “will maintain its armed forces stationed … on the Syrian front. …”
