LOWER DIR: The Dir Qaumi Jirga on Friday resolved a 30-year-old enmity between two families from Shago Kas area. The feud has so far claimed three lives.
A function to this effect was held in Timergara.
Jirga chief and former MNA Sahibzada Yaqub Khan said the forum had made many attempts to reconcile the warring families.
Jamaat-i-Islami district chief Izazul Mulk, former MPA Haji Saeed Gul, additional deputy commissioner Abdul Wali Khan, former MNA Maulana Asadullah, president of Anjuman-i-Tajiran, Timergara Haji Anwaruddin, DSP Syed Ahmed Khan, chief of Dir Qaumi Pasoon Malik Jahan Alam Yusufzai and others spoke on the occasion.
They highlighted the importance of jirga system in Pakhtun society as it had played a vital role in ending petty disputes and enmities.
The warring parties promised to live like brothers in future.
