STORAGE OF MEDICINES: The management of temperature is crucial for storing medicines in pharmacies. Most medicines should be kept in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight, while others come with specific instructions for storage. However, many medical stores in Turbat do not follow these guidelines and keep medicines at room temperature and, that, too, with direct exposure to sunlight. Consequently, these medicines are less effective, expire quickly or even become dangerous for the patients. The authorities should ensure that medical stores in Turbat practise safe and proper storage of medicines.

MISERABLE RESIDENTS: The Clifton beach is no doubt the only recreational option for many of the residents of Karachi, but the relevant authorities should safeguard the basic rights of the residents of Seaview Township by not allowing visitors to park their vehicles on the long stretch of the service lane. The residents have been requesting the local authorities to control the traffic chaos in the area, but all such requests and efforts so far have been in vain. Besides, the entire strip of Saba Avenue has become a sort of home for professional beggars who have made the lives of area residents miserable.

COMMEMORATIVE COIN: Recently, Pakistan Post recently issued a comme- morative postage stamp to pay tribute to Capt Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed on the anniversary of his martyrdom. He was the first recipient of Nishan-i-Haider, the highest military gallantry award of the country. Since the State Bank of Pakistan (SBO) has issued many laudatory commemorative coins over the years related to the likes of Abdus Sattar Edhi, Ruth Pfau, Fatima Jinnah, Benazir Bhutto, and others,it will be in the fitness of things to issue a special coin commemorating the services of Capt Sarwar Shaheed as well.
