Demos held against caricatures

SWABI, Feb 11: Workers of different religious parties and students of schools and colleges held a protest demonstration here on Saturday against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in some European newspapers. The rally was organized by the Jamaat Ashaat Al Towhid wa Sunnah.

The protesters burned the effigy of US President George Bush and flags of Denmark and America at the Kernal Sher Chowk.

They also carried placards inscribed with anti-Europe and anti-US slogans.

Meanwhile, the Abasin Union of Journalists, traders’ unions, Hydro Labour Union and Homeopathic Doctors’ Association also demonstrated against the blasphemous caricatures.
