PESHAWAR, Feb 11: Inspector-General of the NWFP Muhammad Raffat Pasha on Saturday visited the Hangu district and inspected the site of the bomb blast that occurred during the Ashura procession the other day.

He also constituted an investigation team to probe into the incident and submit its report.

Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Badshah Gul Wazir accompanied the IGP on the occasion.

The IGP held separate meetings with General Officer Commanding (GOC) Kohat Maj-Gen Gul Mohammad, local elders and police officials.

The IGP discussed the current situation in affected areas after the blast and motives behind the incident. DIG Kohat briefed the IGP about the incident.

The IGP urged the local elders to play their role and help bring the situation under control. He assured them that culprits behind the incident would be unearthed and they would be punished.

The IGP called on the GOC Kohat and discussed with him the situation of the affected areas and the security arrangements.

The investigation team would be headed by Additional IGP (Investigation) Fayaz Ahmad Khan Toru. — Online
