LAHORE: The resignation of Pakistan Hockey Federation secretary Haider Hussain was accepted by the PHF president retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar on Tuesday.

Though the PHF secretary could not be available to confirm the resignation, according to a copy of his resignation he had tendered on Oct 11.

Haider, who had made many Congress members angry as they had submitted a no-confidence motion against him a couple of months ago, which could not be followed due to some controversy surrounding on the day of voting.

However, finally he resigned, citing personal reasons.

Haider succeeded in generating funds to ensure the participation of Pakistan’s senior and junior teams in several international events.

However, Pakistan team during his time in office could not make any considerable achievement other than climbing once from 18th to 15th spot in world rankings.

Haider was the fourth PHF secretary, who worked under Brig Khokhar who has been at the helm since 2016. Earlier, Shahbaz Senior, Ayaz Khan and Asif Bajwa as secretary had functioned under him.
