KARACHI: Caretaker Chief Minister retired Justice Maqbool Baqar on Saturday directed to effectively enforce the inspection system of police stations across the province.

According to a statement, he directed that the DSPs would inspect the police stations in their respective area fortnightly and it would be mandatory for the SPs concerned to inspect the police station every month.

Justice Baqar ordered that the SSPs and DIGs would ensure inspection of police stations every three months, while additional IG would visit them every six months.

He directed the IGP to inspect police stations twice a year.

Besides, he said that the assistant commissioners, deputy commissioners and commissioners should also inspect police stations.

The chief minister said that the record of police station should be checked during inspection and strict action should be taken against those officials who are found involved in wrongdoings.

He directed the IGP to send inspection reports to the chief minister so that appropriate action could be taken.
