KARACHI, Feb 10: The Sindh High Court on Friday adjourned hearing of a quashment application filed by Asif Ali Zardari, spouse of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and a former senator, in the Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case.

The adjournment was requested by advocate Mohammad Farooq who told the court that M. Ilyas Khan would be appearing as the special public prosecutor.

The single SHC bench judge, Justice Mushir Alam, granting the request put off the matter for a date to be fixed by the office.

Asif Ali Zardari, along with others are facing the charge of killing Mir Murtaza Bhutto and seven of his associates on September 20, 1996 in Clifton.

The quashment application was moved by Asif Zardari after his acquittal plea was rejected by the trial court. —PPI
