SARGODHA: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Salman Ghumman convicted two rape accused for life while acquitted another, giving him the benefit of the doubt.

According to the prosecution, Sajawal Masih, Arif Masih, Zahid and another unidentified person had broken into the house of a 40-year-old woman, tied her with a rope and raped her in presence of her husband at Chak 88-NB on Feb 22, 2022. The accused tortured her body with cigarettes also.

Saddar police registered a case under Section 375-A of the gang rape of his wife on the complaint of the woman’s husband, arrested Zahid, Sajawal and Arif and sent them to jail.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Salman Ghumman Zahid and Sajawal Masih to life imprisonment and imposed Rs100,000 fine on each of them while acquitted Arif, giving him the benefit of doubt. The fourth accused is still at large.
