RAWALPINDI: The task force of the district administration, local police and officials of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Monday conducted an operation against two illegal housing schemes on Chakri Road and demolished six bunkers.

Earlier, an operation was also conducted against three housing societies - Blue World, Abdullah City and Avalon City - located on Chakri Road. During the operation, bunkers and main gates in the illegal housing societies were demolished and their site offices sealed.

According to RDA Director General (DG) Saif Anwar Jappa, the operation had been launched against illegal societies on the instructions of the Rawalpindi commissioner. He said action against all illegal housing societies would continue across the board to stop their fraud and looting of the citizens.

The DG added that complaints were received from the public about the illegal occupation of the land by owners of illegal housing schemes.

“Strict actions will be taken against those who take possession of land by force,” he said.

He further articulated that the owners of the housing schemes who had completed legal documents had been given possession of the land.

The DG added that the notices were issued to the owners and sponsors of the two illegal housing schemes, and FIRs were lodged to stop illegal advertisements, bookings and development.
