BAHAWALPUR: Veteran PPP leader and lawyer Ayub Lodhi was allegedly killed under mysterious circumstances here on Thursday.

Lodhi was among the pioneers of the PPP activists during the era of the late ZA Bhutto. He had shifted several years ago to Old Anarkali in Lahore where he practised law.

He was in Bahawalpur for the last many days and was stated to be staying with his relatives at Mohallah Aam Khas in the limits of Kotwali police.

A police spokesperson told Dawn Lodhi had allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself.
