ISLAMABAD: The Special Court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday directed the prosecution to submit the record related to tweets of journalist Khalid Jamil and adjourned hearing on his bail plea till today (Thursday).

Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand resumed hearing on the petition seeking post-arrest bail of Jamil.

The prosecution of the FIA did not submit the record and sought further time from the court.

Jamil’s counsel argued that the FIA was directed to produce the record, however, the investigation did not comply with the order. The hearing was briefly adjourned with a direction to the FIA to submit the record on the same day.

However, the prosecution could not bring the record when the hearing resumed. Subsequently, the judge adjourned the hearing till Thursday.

He said he would decide the matter ex-parte in case the FIA would not bring anything on court’s record.
