DERA GHAZI KHAN: Bandits in the riverine area (katcha area) of Rujhan tehsil, located in the trans-Indus district of Rajanpur, have expressed their willingness to surrender to the police.

Their condition for surrender includes providing education for their children and ensuring a fair trial for the cases registered against them.

They pledged to cooperate with the police in restoring peace throughout the entire riverine area by eliminating gangsters.

In a video clip, the leader of the Omrani gang, accompanied by children from his clan, announced their intention to surrender along with their weapons. He thanked the mediators who played a role in persuading them to make this positive decision.

The video featuring Gora Omrani and the children of his clan has gone viral on social media platforms.

Rajanpur District Police Officer (DPO) Dost Muhammad said 25 bandits had been arrested in an ongoing police operation in the riverine area.

Gora Omrani faces 31 cases involving murder, kidnapping and robbery and a head money of Rs1.5 million has been announced for Gora Omrani’s capture. Two members of the Gora Omrani Gang, both relatives of the ringleader, voluntarily surrendered to the police on September 25 as a goodwill gesture.

The DPO said Gora Omrani would be treated in accordance with the law under all circumstances. — Tariq Saeed Birmani
