KOHAT: On the directives of deputy commissioner Dr Azmatullah Wazir, drug inspector Irfan Wazir on Tuesday sealed two medical stores selling expired medicines and operating without proper licence.

The drug inspector along with his team raided stores in Miangan Colony and sealed one of them for operating without licence.

Similarly, during inspections of stores near the Liaquat Memorial Hospital an outlet giving expired medicaments was sealed.

Cases were registered against the owners under the Drug Act, 1976, and samples were sent to Peshawar for lab test.

Separately, the KDA township police arrested a man for looting the attendants of patients sleeping in the galleries of the Kohat Divisional Hospital and recovered stolen valuables from him on Monday night.

District police officer Farhan Ahmed, while taking notice of the reports, had assigned the task to SHO KDA police station Zafar Ali to arrest the culprits.

SHO Ali told Dawn that while patrolling in plain clothes in different areas of the hospital, they arrested Musarrat, who belonged to Orakzai tribal district, and was presently living in Hangu district.

He said the police recovered four mobile phones, a costly watch, and Rs20,000 cash from him. He said a case had been registered against him.
