Italian Navy Ship Morosini visits Karachi Port.—INP

KARACHI: The Italian Navy ship, Morosini, visited Karachi and conducted bilateral exercises with the Pakistan Navy. Earlier, upon its arrival at Karachi Port, the Italian ship was warmly welcomed by senior PN officials and the Ambassador of Italy.

On completion of the port visit, PNS Shahjahan, with an embarked helicopter and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighters, carried out sea exercises with the visiting Italian ship to enhance interoperability between both navies.

The sea exercise was aim­ed at strengthening mu­t­ual professional skills thro­ugh cooperation and lear­ning from each other’s experiences.

Concurrent with the ship’s visit, the director of military personnel of the Italian Navy, Vice Admiral Andrea Gueglio, visited Pakistan and called on the Commander of the Paki­stan Fleet, Vice Admiral Mohammed Faisal Abbasi.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and avenues for future collaboration to enhance regional maritime security were discussed.

An Italian defence indu­stry delegation led by Chai­r­man M/s Fincantieri, Gen­e­ral (Retd) Claudio Graz­iano (former Italian COAS), also visited Kar­achi to showcase the capabilities of the Italian defence industry and shipbuilding.
