TAXILA: A team of the local administration recovered 3,600 bags of urea and DAP fertiliser illegally stocked in a warehouse of a local cotton mill in Hassanabdal.

On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza, a team comprising officials from the agriculture department and local administration led by Assistant Commissioner Dr Sana Ramchand raided a warehouse of a local cotton mill located on G.T. Road and recovered 3,600 bags of urea and DAP fertiliser that were illegally stocked for hoarding.

The same team also made surprise checks at two different warehouses of the fertiliser dealers and seized over 1,100 bags of urea and DAP fertiliser.

Talking to newsmen, Dr Sana Ramchand said the dealers had shown zero stock in the documents but it was found that urea and DAP fertiliser were illegally stocked in different locations for hoarding and profiteering.

She said legal actions against violators had been initiated, warning that hoarding of fertiliser would not be tolerated at any cost.
