Five arrested for illegal currency business

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested five suspects involved in illegal currency business of hundi and hawala.

According to the FIA Faisalabad, suspects Agha Fawad, Omar, Muhammad Zain, Talha Fawad and Haris Anayat had been running an illegal currency exchange business at Jevan City, Sahiwal.

The FIA recovered foreign currency, laptops and mobile phones from them.

The FIA also arrested five travel agents at Sialkot airport.

Immigration staff nabbed Afghan citizen Najeebullah who was trying to leave the country on Pakistani passport. On his information, five agents Muhammad Ahmad, Sherazi, Fayaz Khan, Waheed and Naeem were arrested from the airport parking.

Meanwhile, the FIA Multan arrested a wanted human smuggler.

Nadeem Iqbal is accused of receiving a handsome amount from different people on the promise of sending them abroad.
