DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Police claimed here on Sunday to have arrested two persons for torturing a minor boy.

The video of the torture on the boy had gone viral on social media platforms. Police took notice of the video arrested both the persons identified as Mohsin Siyal and Mohammad Saleem alias Gullu in the limits of Cantt police station.

The accused alleged that the boy stole their eggs. The boy belonged to a poor family and worked as a servant of the arrested persons.

KILLED: A man was allegedly shot dead by his opponents in Bhutaisar area in the limits of Prova police station.

Police said that Qayyum Baloch was irrigating his agricultural fields when his opponents sprayed him with bullets. He died on the spot.

Karan Nawaz, a brother of the deceased, named Abdul Sattar and Matiullah in the FIR. Police arrested both the suspects along with weapon used in the crime.

Meanwhile, police solved the mystery of the murder of a woman and arrested her husband.

A police spokesperson said that the woman was killed two days ago in the limits of Paharpur police station. Police investigated the case on scientific bases and arrested her husband Irfan.

PROTEST: The local traders will stage a sit-in at GPO Chowk today (Tuesday) against increase in the prices of electricity, gas, petroleum products and other essential items.

The decision was made in a meeting of the representatives of trader organisations. The meeting was presided over Sohail Ahmed Azmi, the president of Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajran.

Addressing the meeting, Haji Kafeel Ahmed Nizami, Chaudhry Jameel Ahmed, Mohammad Ramzan, Haji Amanullah, Janabaat Khan Mehsud, Haji Mohammad Nawaz, Allah Ditta, Sajid, Sher Mohammad, Naeem Ahmed Qureshi, Mohibullah, Mohammad Ashraf, Ghulam Shabir, Mohammad Zeeshan Lakhesar, Mohammad Luqman and others said that increase in power and gas tariffs made life of people miserable.

The meeting decided to stage a sit-in at GPO Chowk at 10am on Tuesday.
