TOBA TEK SINGH: Two Samundri City constables were arrested on Friday for attempting to rape a nurse of a private hospital.

They were arrested under sections 376 and 392 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The complainant alleged that she and her two male colleagues were traveling on a motorcycle on Canal Road near Ghausia Colony when the suspects intercepted them.

They forced them to Manianwala Canal Rest House where they held them captive for one and a half hours.

The complainant said the constables, along with an unidentified accomplice in plainclothes, harassed her and attempted to rape her. They also robbed them of cash and valuables.

A police spokesperson said CPO Usman Akram Gondal had instructed Saddar police SP Shamsul Haq to investigate the incident and provide a report.

MURDER: A man was murdered in Pirmahal at Chak 680/21-GB due to an ongoing feud.

As per the Pirmahal police, Manzoor Ahmad was returning home from his farmland when Muhammad Yousaf opened fire on him. He sustained critical injuries and died while being transported to Pirmahal THQ hospital.

The police have apprehended the accused.

RAID: A team from the Punjab Food Authority conducted a raid on Friday at a kitchen spices manufacturing factory in Chak 66-JB, Dhandra, on Jhang Road.

They discovered a substantial amount of counterfeit raw materials being used to produce spices.

A PFA representative stated that they seized 4,200kg of ajwain husk, 500kg of harmful herbs, 885kg of plaster of Paris, 270 litres of contaminated cooking oil, 50kg of marble powder, and various prohibited artificial food colors.

The factory has been sealed, and a case registered against the owner at the Thikriwala police station.
