Freeloader on Turkish plane

Published February 4, 2006

RIYADH, Feb 3: An airport loader somehow went asleep while loading luggage of returning pilgrims on a Turkish Airlines flight at Jeddah airport.

Unaware that the loader is asleep on the cargo section of the aircraft, the pilot took off, with the sleeping cargo loader on way to the Turkish city of Diyarbakir.

It was a short flight, and the loader Muhammed Ahmed Mursi slept almost the whole way. However while in air, the freezing temperature awoke the loader and he panicked. Only the heat wasn’t on and it started to get a little cold. Ahmed started to scream loudly and his screams were so loud that the pilot also heard some of them.

Mursi fell asleep on the job on Wednesday night as he loaded the suitcases of Haj pilgrims from Turkey on the Turkish Airlines flight.

Mursi reportedly woke up somewhere over southeastern Turkey. After he managed to make himself heard from among the boxes and suitcases he was stretched out on, the pilot realising the predicament pumped some hot air in the section.

Mursi was finally taken foe medical treatment after the plane landed at the airport in Diyarbakir.
