Gang busted

The Wah Saddar police on Monday claimed to have arrested three members of a gang allegedly involved in illegal occupation of properties.

The claim was made by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ghulam Asghar Chandia at a news conference.

According to the SDPO, a police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) of Saddar Wah Police Station Rana Muhammad Kashif had busted the “notorious gang” which was involved in illegally occupying properties of citizens at gunpoint.

Mr Chandia disclosed that a former policeman Tallat Khan was also among those who had been arrested. The policeman, he said, had already been dismissed from service due to his involvement in unlawful activities.

The SDPO said four repeater guns, three 44 bore rifles, one pistol, a large quantity of bullets and two vehicles had also been recovered from the gang members.

Separately, he told the reporters that the Wah Cantonment police had arrested a man involved in street crimes and motorcycle thefts. He said acting on a tip off, a police team rounded up the man, identified as Dilawar, who confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Three stolen motorcycles and snatched cash had also been recovered from his possession.
